The following information will help guide you through the process of bringing ViewPoint to your community. Sponsoring ViewPoint in your city or town involves the following steps:

STEP ONE:

Securing a Station and Terms of Agreement

  • Contact a radio station in your community that has a good reputation.
    • Consider a station that is not necessarily a Christian station. ViewPoint is an outreach ministry and might be most effective placed on a secular station at an unusual time, like Saturday night after midnight or Tuesday after 9:00 PM.
    • Get information about the station:
      • Format
      • Target audience
      • Coverage (Does it reach surrounding communities?)
    • Set up a meeting with the station's program director. If possible, have the program director listen to the ViewPoint sample CD (Contact us to receive a sample CD) before the meeting. During the meeting find out:
      • Will the station run the program free as a public service to the community?
      • If not, find out how much it will cost to air a half-hour program. See if that price changes depending on the day and time that the program is aired.
      • Ask about the tag. If you don't record one, will someone read the information as a close for the program?

STEP TWO:

After a Station Accepts the Program

  •  Please call us at 1-800-757-VIEW (800-757-8439).
    • Tell us the date and time the program will begin, the station's mailing address, and to whom we should address the CDs.
    • Complete the Broadcast Data and CD Agreement form and return it to ViewPoint; PO Box 2420; Anderson, IN 46018.
  • If necessary, ask other churches in your area to contribute financially to the broadcast. You may wish to approach professionals in your congregation with the opportunity to help with the cost by providing matching funds.
  • Complete the tag for the broadcast. Either have the station create the tag or printout the ViewPoint Tag Form and mail it to ViewPoint, to receive a custom tag by speaker Jim Lyon.

STEP 3:

Promoting Your New Program

  • Advertise ViewPoint in your local newspaper.  Send a news release to newspapers and to your statewide church publication.
  • Add a link to ViewPoint on your Web site.  ViewPoint Images
  • Put an announcement about ViewPoint in your church's weekly bulletin or newsletter. You might consider printing bookmarks for church members to pass out in the community.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in the lives of those who hear ViewPoint each week. Pray that they might see Jesus at work in their world.
