For over three years, the staff of CBH have been praying, dreaming, planning, working, and acting to bring about a new broadcast of hope in the Hindi language. May 3, 2007, at 8:45 AM EDT (in the United States), will see the culmination of that effort. This new broadcast, produced in eastern India by the same CBH staff that produces the CBH Oriya broadcast, will go out over the airwaves of Trans World Radio as a word of hope to the hundreds of millions of Hindi-speaking people across the Indian subcontinent.

This effort has included the first renovation of space and equipment in nearly twenty years at the CBH recording facilities in India. The writing of new Hindi scripts for the on-air dramas that are CBH-India, the selection of actors to play the characters and record programs, the hiring of a new CBH on-site producer in India to oversee the production, and the distribution of the CBH-India broadcasts have all been a part of the preparation. Additionally, CBH has purchased and distributed shortwave radios to pastors in the region of Orissa for home radio Bible classes centered on the CBH-India broadcasts. And most importantly, countless hours of prayer have been lifted by people like you, asking that God use this effort as a light of hope to souls so often shrouded in darkness.

It has been inspiring to see how groups and individuals from across the church have come together to make this broadcast possible. The young people of the Church of God through the Spread the Word offerings have funded the purchase of a new digital mixing console for the India facility. Mark and Barb Denton’s generous gift provided funds for the renovation and expansion of the studio space itself. Lynchwood Church of God in Portland, Oregon, and First Church of God in Dodge City, Kansas, provided funds to purchase five thousand new Hindi Bibles that will be sent to listeners who respond. Another special gift funded the purchase of a new computer editing system and all the necessary software for recording, editing, and assembling the programs. The regular support of the CBH family is funding the producer, actors, new microphones, seeker conferences, and airtime for both CBH-India broadcasts.

We are asking as many people as possible to pray for the new Hindi program on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at 8:45 AM EDT. This time correlates directly to the hour in India when the first Hindi program will be broadcast. May God use this voice of hope to bring the hope of Christ to new hearts that have yet to hear.
