Coming Up on ViewPoint-March/April 2009

The chance of being struck by lightening in the United States is roughly one in 350,000. Those are long odds. But if you are that one in 350,000, well, you are changed forever. In March, you’ll meet an amazing young woman who was struck by lightening and faced death. She experienced a separation of spirit from body; hospital workers thought she was dead. She vividly recalls an unforgettable meeting with Jesus and her return to this world, “here below.” You’ll hear her testimony of the Lord’s goodness, the unspeakable calm and peace of release into Jesus’ arms, and the sense of calling her extraordinary journey has brought into focus. And that’s just one of the interviews in store as ViewPoint will help you see your world from Heaven’s view this spring.

In the weeks leading up to Easter, Jim Lyon and cohost Obadiah Smith will introduce you to a series of fascinating folks whose lives have been touched by God and who are now transforming their worlds. These are not stories you’ll hear on Oprah; these are testimonies that will stretch and inspire because Jesus is at the center of every one. He lives, you know. And he lives to change lives.

Our ViewPoint lineup this spring will also include programs produced in Israel. We will take you to some of the most important venues of the ancient biblical stage, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the ancient house of worship built on the rock that has been thought, for twenty centuries, to be Golgotha (or in Latin, Calvary). You will be almost able to smell the incense as cohost Kimberly Majeski joins Jim in the sprawling, cavernous building that marks both the foot of the cross and the resurrection tomb. Once you walk through these hallowed halls, chocolate bunnies and marshmallow peeps will fade from view this Easter as the reality of the Lord’s passion and triumph come into stark relief.

In every venture, CBH proclaims hope. And hope is, after all, one of the three things (together with faith and love) that the Scriptures tell us transcend everything else. Without hope, there is no life worth living. We bring the hope of Heaven, Jesus Christ, in eight languages, to the world every day, every week, every year. It is impossible to know the breadth and sweep of our footprint. Christians Broadcasting Hope is heard somewhere in the world 24/7. People listen. They call our toll-free numbers. They send letters. They send e-mails. They ask for prayer. They ask about God. They ask about the Bible. They ask about hope.

In this year, 2009, we’re inviting you to be a part in new ways. Hope 107.5 Sounds like the call letters from a radio station, doesn’t it? It could be, but it’s actually a way you can help keep the voice of CBH growing around the world. With a gift of just $107.50, you will fully underwrite this global outreach for three hours. That’s three hours simultaneously all around the world in eight languages reaching untold millions. Just $107.50. There’s not a bigger bang for your charitable buck anywhere. In Russian (with Walentin Schüle), in Hindi (with Asim Das), in Swahili (with Daniel Mdobi), in Spanish (with Gilbert Davila), and all the rest, Christians Broadcasting Hope is speaking to the world. From ViewPoint (in English) to CBH-Portuguese (heard in Brazil, Portugal, and much of Africa, where Portuguese is the language of several nations), we help listeners everywhere think about God and their relationship to him. We speak the hope of Christ.

For more information on Hope107.5, just give us a call: 1-800-757-8439. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Or send an e-mail: viewpoint@chog.org. Write us a letter: CBH, PO Box 2420, Anderson, IN 46018. Or simply visit the Hope107.5 Web site: www.Hope1075.org. And don’t miss ViewPoint on air in March and April. If you’re struck by lightening, you’ll know just what to do.
