2010 Resource Leaders
Jenn Helvering
As Jenn’s calling as a worship leader has deepened, she has continually been amazed at the doors God has opened. The 2009 season of the Revolve Tour, a national arena tour for teenage girls, marked her fifth year singing with the Praise Band and first year as a featured speaker. Her heart remains set on her desire to see people connect to God through the corporate expression of our worship through singing. Her heart resonates with that of A.W. Tozer: "We are here to be worshippers first and workers second."
Jim Lyon
ViewPoint host Jim Lyon originally dreamed of a career in politics and found himself representing northwest Seattle in the Washington State House of Representatives in the early 1980s. But ultimately, it was Christian ministry that claimed his heart. He’s served in pastoral ministry in both the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. He has been senior pastor at Madison Park Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, since 1991. An articulate preacher, teacher, and motivational speaker, Jim was invited to anchor the ViewPoint broadcast in 1996. It is the conviction that Jesus is at work in this world—redeeming, transforming, and healing us—that has molded his life and vocation more than any other; helping people see Jesus at work in their world has become his life’s work.
Aly Peslis
Specializing in a wide variety of vocal techniques, Aly Peslis’ singing ability and range can be astounding. Her experiences studying classical, operatic, pop, and gospel music and performing works by Claude Debussy, Chris Tomlin, and Bill Gaither have helped shape her understanding that many forms of music can lead to a greater understanding of the character of God. Expect to be surprised and humbled by the worshipful heart and spirit of Aly Peslis.
Ron & Carolyn Patty
Ron and Carolyn Patty are returning to the Cove to lead worship through music. Ron’s beautiful tenor voice mixed with Carolyn’s expert piano playing always make for a spirit filled worship experience not easily forgotten. Both Ron and Carolyn are long time friends of the CBH ministry and are strong communicators and gifted musicians. In 2007, they led worship with their daughter, Sandi Patty. This year, they’ll be leading worship with 2 of their granddaughters, Jenn Helvering and Aly Peslis.
