Lisa Patton, author and special guest on ViewPoint on September 16, 2007 has released the first in a series of books designed through Redhouse community projects, The Garden Promise, a Redhouse Story. Illustrated by women at Dove Harbor, the book is the perfect gift for holidays, birthdays and special occasions.
Dove Harbor is a transitional shelter for women and their children located in Anderson, Indiana. The Garden Promise, a Redhouse Story, is the result of a six-month community project designed by Redhouse Enterprises, Inc. The book acts as a small-group facilitator for businesses, mature students, civic organizations, women and family ministries and other individuals or groups that work with the community. Initiatives such as childcare,
counseling and transportation at Dove Harbor are funded by 25% of all book proceeds.
Redhouse has a team of experienced professionals committed to sharing their stories through speaking engagements and guided discussions. The Garden Promise, a Redhouse Story provides a series of lesson topics on community service, perseverance, leadership, discipline and attitude.
